Description
Short Song Description:
A little tune about leaving, be it going back to school or off to follow your dreams.
Long Song Description:
I was taking the position of someone saying goodbye to a friend as they go off to another point in their life. A little sentimental, a little reflective, a little sad.
Story Behind the Song:
I started to write a song about the immigration situation but the song took it's own direction and moved to a more personal, local level. Funny how that happens.

Dream the dreams that no one else is dreaming.
Sing your song in your own voice.
Live the life that only you can live in.
And love your loves as if you had no choice,
Yes, love your loves as if you had no choice.

The train is waiting at the station
It's leaving sooner than it seems.
I see you standing on the platform
with you baggage, your guitar and your dreams.

Counting all the stars in the summer sky.
Tryin' to catch lightning in a jar.
Turning a page, there'll be stories to write
Take you time to find out who you are.

Dream the dreams that no one else is dreaming.
Sing your song in your own voice.
Live the life that only you can live in.
And love your loves as if you had no choice,
Yes, love your loves as if you had no choice.

You've got a chance and you should take it.
You know best what you can do.
When dark clouds come threatening
Its up to you to shine on through.
Its not my place to advise you.
I'll leave that to your old man.
I might suggest you try and stay in touch
Give me a call when you can.

Dream the dreams that no one else is dreaming.
Sing your song in your own voice.
Live the life that only you can live in.
And love your loves as if you had no choice,
Yes, love your loves as if you had no choice.
